This page contains instructions on how to download, install, and how to use the SFTP program Filezilla to transfer files to and from your folder and/or webspace on the Homedirs web server.

Downloading Filezilla
1. Download the current version of FileZilla
Note: If you save the installation file to your computer, it will be an icon looking similar to this:
Installing FileZilla
1. Double click on the icon to start installing Filezilla. The dialog box shown below will appear.
2. Click the I Agree Button
3. Leave the selection set to Anyone who uses this computer (all users). Click on Next
4. Leave the default settings as they are and click on Next.
5. Click on Next
6. Click on Install
7. A Progress window will appear while FileZilla installs.
8. Click on Finish
Configuring Filezilla
1. Start Filezilla, the screen below will appear.
2. Open up the Site Manager. This can be done one of two ways:
- Click on File, then click Site Manager...
- Click on the button indicated by the red rectangle in the screenshot below
2. The Site Manager Window will come up. Click on the New Site button.
3. In the new field that appears, type MCC Nethome
4. In the Host field, type nethome.mc.maricopa.edu
5. Click on the Servertype drop down box and choose SFTP - SSH File Transfer Protocol
6. Click on the Logontype drop drop down and choose Ask for Password
7. In the User field, type in your MCC Username
8. Click on the OK button
Using Filezilla to Connect to Nethome
1. On the main Filezilla screen click on the Site Manager button or click File, then click Site Manager...
2. Click on the Connect button
3. Type your MyMCC password when the password dialog box appears.
4. Once connected, the connection message will appear in the blue title bar at the top of the window, you can now transfer files back and forth between your computer an the server. The computer that you are currently using is displayed on the left, indicated by the red box. The server and your folder and/or files is on the right, indicated by the blue box. To move files from one side to another, either double-click the file or click and drag the file over to the other side.
