During Thanksgiving Break, there is a planned power outage scheduled for Friday November 27th. Power will be off to a number of buildings on campus for twelve hours.

Because of this scheduled power outage, we are asking that all employees shut down all computers, monitors, printers, and other computer related equipment before they leave for the break on Wednesday November 25th. Equipment that is left on can suffer damage from a power surge when power is restored.

There are plans to have backup generators in key areas on campus in order to keep the network and server infrastructure running during this outage. Network/Internet services such as MCC's email, the MyMCC portal, and WebCT should remain operational.

The Maricopa Colleges District, of which MCC is a part, recently entered into an agreement with Google to provide e-mail accounts and other on-line applications to all students attending any of the Maricopa colleges. We'll refer to this system as 'GoogleApps@Maricopa'.
