Migrate MCC Gmail to GoogleApps@Maricopa

  • Next, click on the Settings link in the upper right corner (circled in red in Figure 2).

  • Click on the Forwarding and POP/IMAP link.
  • In the POP Download: area, make sure that the Enable POP for all mail (even mail that's already been downloaded) button has been clicked to migrate all mail to your GoogleApps@Maricopa.
  • Click the Save Changes button at the bottom.

  • Next, go to GoogleApps@Maricopa http://google.maricopa.edu. You should see a screen similar to the image in Figure 4. Sign in using your MEID (Maricopa Enterprise ID) and password. This is the same username and password you would use to sign in to my.maricopa.edu.

  • Once you've logged in:
    • Click on the Settings link in the upper right corner of the screen.
    • Next, click on the Accounts link.
    • In the Get mail from other accounts: area, click the Add a mail account you own link.
  • See the items circled in red in Figure 5.

  • A new window will open up. In the middle of that window is an area that asks for email address. Type in your MCC Gmail address (MyMCCUsername@mesacc.edu) and then click the Next Step button.

  • On the next screen, type in your full MCC Gmail address in the Username: field and MCC Gmail password in the Password field. In the POP Server: field type in "pop.gmail.com". Make sure that the check box next to Always use a secure connection (SSL)... is checked and then change the port number (located in the drop down menu next to the POP Server: field) to 995 and then click the Add Account button.

  • On the next screen, it will ask if you would like to also send email as this account. Click on the No button as the MCC Gmail account will eventually be phased out. Finally, click on the Finish button.


  • Once you've clicked the Finish button, please note that it may take several minutes before the process finishes. The amount of time it takes will depend on the amount of email messages that are being moved. Please be patient.
