Outlook 2003

These are instructions on how to configure Outlook 2003 to access and send email from your MCC email account, as well as District MEMO email accounts for employees.

Setting up Outlook Express to access your MCC Email (for Employees)

Click Tools on the menu bar, then click Email Accounts...

Under the E-mail section, leave the Add a new email account radio option selected, then click Next.

Select the IMAP radio option, then click Next.

In the Your Name: field, type your name as how you want it appear on your emails.

In the Email Address: field, type in your MCC email address.

In the Incoming mail server (IMAP): field, type zimbra.mesacc.edu.

In the Outgoing mail server (SMTP): field, type zimbra.mesacc.edu.

For the User Name: field, your MCC email username should have already been filled in after you finished typing in your email address. If it isn't, type it in.

For the Password field, if you'd like Outlook to remember your password, type it in and leave the Remember password checkbox checked. If not, click on the Remember password checkbox to uncheck it. Note: If you're not certain of your password, you can add/change it later through the Email Accounts window.

Click More Settings...

In the first field, listed after the Mail Account header, type in MCC email as the label for the account.

Click the Outgoing Server tab, then click the My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication checkbox.

Click the Advanced tab, then click on BOTH of the checkboxes for This server requires an excrypted connection (SSL). The number in the Incoming mail (IMAP) will automatically change to 993.

In the Outgoing mail(SMTP) field, type 465.

Click Ok.

Setting up Outlook Express to access your District MEMO Email (for Employees)

For MCC Employees with a District MEMO Email account, here are the steps to add your MEMO account and access it in Outlook Express. If you've followed these instructions this far please continue following the steps for where the previous section left off. If not, to get to the same point, run Outlook Express. click Tools on the menu bar, then click on Accounts....

Under the E-mail section, leave the View or change existing email accounts radio option selected, then click Next.

Click Add.

In the Your Name: field, type your name as how you want it appear on your emails.

In the Email Address: field, type your District MEMO email address.

In the Incoming mail server (IMAP): field, type email3.dist.maricopa.edu.

In the Outgoing mail server (SMTP): field, type mcmail.maricopa.edu.

In the Account name field, part of your District MEMO userneame should have already been filled in after you finished typing in your email address. If it isn't, type it in. Also, if it is already filled, it's most likely be just your firstname.lastname. The username for District MEMO email accounts is the full email account, so type in the @mcmail.maricopa.edu after your name.

For the Password field, if you'd like Outlook to remember your password, type it in and leave the Remember password checkbox checked. If not, click on the Remember password checkbox to uncheck it. Note: If you're not certain of your password, you can add/change it later through the Email Accounts window.

Click the Advanced tab, then click the This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL) checkbox that's below the Incoming mail (IMAP) field. The number in the Incoming mail(IMAP) will automatically change to 993.

Click Ok.

Note: If you are using this email account to send and receive email from home and your Internet Service Provider (ISP) is Cox High Speed Internet, you'll need to use their outgoing server to send out email. Please follow these instructions on how to change your outgoing server: Sending District email from home using Cox High Speed Internet

(Optional) Setting up MCC and District MEMO Email Directories

This section is here to provide instructions to set up the MCC and District LDAP Directories for those who want to be able to search for email addresses either directly or while composing an email. This is not required to be able to receive or send email so if you do not want this ability you can skip this section.

Click Tools on the menu bar, then click Email Accounts...

Under the Directory section, select the Add a new directory or address book radio option, then click Next.

Leave the Internet Directory Service (LDAP) radio option selected, and click Next.

Under the Server Information heading, in the Server Name: field, type ds.mc.maricopa.edu.

Click on More Settings...

The following dialog box will appear. It's just to inform you that you won't be able to use the directory until you restart Outlook, so just click Ok.

In the field in the Display Name section, type MCC Directory.

Click the Search tab, in the Search Options section in the Search base field, type ou=People, dc=mc, dc=maricopa, dc=edu .

Click Apply, then click OK.

Under the Directory section, select the Add a new directory or address book radio option, then click Next.

Click Apply, then click OK.

Searching for addresses using the MCC and District Directories in Outlook isn't as automated as in other email clients. Follow these steps to do so:

In a normal Outlook compose window click on the To...

Click on the Advanced drop down button at the bottom, then click Find....

For the Substring Matching section, choose either radio option to search by. It's recommended to search using the First name or Last name fields. But searching is available by the other fields. Click OK.

Back in the Select Names window, the results of a search will be displayed. To insert a name, click it to highlight it and press the To, Cc, or Bcc buttons to place the email under one of those address headings.

Repeat as necessary for all the addresses, then click OK .

Outlook 2007

These are instructions on how to configure Outlook 2007 to access and send email from your MCC email account, as well as District MEMO email accounts for employees.

Setting up Outlook Express to access your MCC Email (for Employees)

Click the Manually configure settings of additional server types check box, then click Next.

Leave the Internet E-mail radio button selected and click Next.

In the Your Name: field, type your name as how you want it appear on your emails.

In the Email Address: field, type in your MCC email address (username@mesacc.edu).

For the Account Type: drop down box, select IMAP.

In the Incoming mail server (IMAP): field, type zimbra.mesacc.edu.

In the Outgoing mail server (SMTP): field, type zimbra.mesacc.edu.

For the User Name: field, your MCC email username should have already been filled in after you finished typing in your email address. If it isn't, type it in.

Leave the Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP radio button selected, then clickNext.

Searching for addresses using the MCC and District Directories in Outlook isn't as automated as in other email clients. Follow these steps to do so:
