These are instructions on how to configure Outlook Express 6 to access and send email from your MCC email account, as well as District MEMO email accounts for employees.

1. Run Outlook Express.

2. Click Tools on the menu bar, then click Accounts...

3. Click the Add button, then click Mail...

4. In the Display name field, type your name as how you want it appear on your emails, then click Next.

5. In the Email address field, type your MCC email address, then click Next.

6. Click on the drop down box and choose IMAP.

7. In the Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server field, type imaps.mc.maricopa.edu.

8. In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server field, type smtps.mc.maricopa.edu, then click Next.

9. In the Account name field, your MCC email username should already be filled in. If it isn't, type it in.

10. For the Password field, if you'd like Outlook Express to remember your password, type it in and leave the Remember Password checkbox checked. IF you're not certain of your password, you can change it later through the Internet Accounts window.

11. Click the Finish button.

12. Back on the Internet Accounts window, make sure the imaps.mc.maricopa.edu account is highlighted, click on it if it isn't, then click the Properties button.

13. In the first field, listed after the Mail Account header, type in MCC Email as the label for the account.

14. Click the Servers tab, then click on the checkbox for "My server requires authentication"

15. Click the Advanced tab, then click on BOTH of the checkboxes for "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)". The number in the Incoming mail(IMAP) will automatically change to 993.

16. In the Outgoing mail(SMTP) field, type 465.

17. Click Apply, then click OK.

Setting up Outlook Express to access your District MEMO Email (for Employees)

For MCC Employees with a District MEMO Email account, here are the steps to add your MEMO account and access it in Outlook Express. If you've followed these instructions this far please continue following the steps for where the previous section left off. If not, to get to the same point, run Outlook Express. click Tools on the menu bar, then click on Accounts....

Back in the Internet Accounts window, the name of the name of the account should now be "MCC Email," matching the name of the label you typed in earlier in step 13.

18. Click the Add button, then click Mail....

19. In the Display name field, type your name as how you want it appear on your emails, then click Next.

20. In the Email address field, type your District MEMO email address, then click Next.

21. Click on the drop down box and choose IMAP.

22. In the Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server field, type email3.dist.maricopa.edu.

23. In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server field, type mcmail.maricopa.edu, then click Next.

24. In the Account name field, your MCC email username should already be filled in. If it isn't, type it in. Also, if it is already filled, it's most likely be just your firstname.lastname. The username for District MEMO email accounts is the full email account, so type in the @mcmail.maricopa.edu after your name, then click Next.

25. For the Password field, if you'd like Outlook Express to remember your password, type it in and leave the Remember Password checkbox checked. IF you're not certain of your password, you can change it later through the Internet Accounts window.

26. Click the Finish button.

27. Back on the Internet Accounts window, make sure the email3.dist.maricopa.edu account is highlighted, click on it if it isn't, then click the Properties button.

28. In the first field, listed after the Mail Account header, type in District MEMO as the label for the account.

29. Click the Servers tab, then click on the checkbox for "My server requires authentication"

30. Click the Advanced tab, then click the "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)" checkbox that's below the Incoming mail(IMAP) field. The number in the Incoming mail(IMAP) will automatically change to 993.

Note: If you are using this email account to send and receive email from home and your Internet Service Provider (ISP) is Cox High Speed Internet, you'll need to use their outgoing server to send out email. (Optional) Setting up MCC and District MEMO Email Directories

This section is here to provide instructions to set up the MCC and District LDAP Directories for those who want to be able to search for email addresses either directly or while composing an email. This is not required to be able to receive or send email so if you do not want this ability you can skip this section.

32. In the Internet Accounts window, click the Add button, then click Directory Service....

33. In the Internet directory (LDAP) server field, type ldap.mc.maricopa.edu, then click Next.

34. For the Check E-mail Addresses screen, select the Yes option, then click Next button.

35. Back in the Internet Accounts window, make sure that ldap.mc.maricopa.edu is highlighted, then click on Properties.

36. In the Directory Service Account field, type Mesa Directory.

37. Click the Advanced tab, then in the Search base field, type o=Mesa Community College,c=us.

38. Click Apply, then click OK.

39. Back in the Internet Accounts window, click the Add button, then click Directory Service....

40. In the Internet directory (LDAP) server field, type mcldap.maricopa.edu, then click Next.

41. For the Check E-mail Addresses screen, select the Yes option, then click Next button.

42. Back in the Internet Accounts window, make sure that mcldap.maricopa.edu is highlighted, then click on Properties.

43. In the Directory Service Account field, type District Directory.

38. Click Apply, then click OK.
