MCC E-mail Web Access
We recommend using the Mozilla Firefox web browser to access the MCC Email web interface. Other browsers will work, but if you experience problems, please try Firefox.
You can log on to MCC's Email Web interface in two ways:
- Go directly to this page: https://zimbra.mesacc.edu
- Log in to the MyMCC portal and then select MCC Email from the links on the left hand side of the page.
Login screen
You will then be brought to the Login screen.
Username and password
then enter in your My MCC username and password then click log in.
- if you'd like the site to remember your username and password on this computer check the "Remember me on this computer" checkbox
Email Interface
After you have logged in you will be greeted with the Email interface where you can gain access to all of your MCC E-mail.
Message Viewing Options
There are two ways to view your messages, by conversations or by messages.
Conversations
If you view by conversations, your emails will be grouped into threads according to replies and emails to and from the same two or more people.
As the name indicates, this is intended to reflect the organizational flow of an actual conversation: Sally speaks, Jane replies, Sally replies, Jane replies.
If you have lost or are "missing" emails, please check to see if this setting is activated.
These emails would show up as grouped inside the inbox with small arrow/triangle next to it indicating there are previous emails. Clicking on that arrow/triangle will open an expanded view of the emails in the conversation.
Messages
If you view by messages, your emails are sorted as individual emails received and will not include your replies or sent messages.
You may select sorting by From, Subject, or the most commonly used Received.

- From will sort by the name of the person who sent the email.
- Subject will sort by alphabetically arranging your emails according to the subject line.
- Received sorts either ascending or descending date and time.
Size sorting is currently not a feature offered by Zimbra.
Setting up an Auto-Reply or Vacation Message
From inside the Preferences tab, select Mail.

On the Mail tab, there will be 3 boxes, locate the second box titled Receiving Messages.

Within that box find the option that says "Send Auto-Reply Message" and place a check mark in the box next to it. This will activate the text box.

After typing in the greeting you wish to send, select a start and stop date for your reply. If you do not wish to restrict it to a certain time frame, leave these boxes empty.

Click on SAVE in the top left corner to save your settings.
Access MEMO Email through Zimbra
Employees, you can also set up your MEMO account so you can access both email accounts from this one location!
- WARNING: Please note that by adding your MEMO account to the Zimbra web interface, it will affect your quota. In other words, all emails that are downloaded from MEMO will decrease the available space for your MCC email account.
To do this click on the Preferences tab at the top of the page. Then click the Accounts tab. (Tabs circled in red below.)
Begin Setup
To begin click the Add External Account button towards the top right corner (circled in red below.) Once you do that a line will appear with something like "New External Account"
Now below this you will see an area called "External Account Settings" (See image below.)
1)Click in the box called "Email address" and type in your District/MEMO e-mail address {firstname.lastname@mcmail.maricopa.edu}
2)In the "Account Name" box type the name that you would like to refer to this account by (ex. District E-mail)
3)In the "Account type" area make sure you click the IMAP radial button
4)In the "Username of Account" box type in your full District/MEMO e-mail address
- this will be the exact same thing that you typed in the "Email address" box.
5)In the "Email Server" box type in: email3.dist.maricopa.edu
6)In the "Password" box type in your password to your District/MEMO e-mail address
7)Make sure that you click the check box next to "Use an encrypted connection (SSL) when accessing this server" This will change the port in next to the box above to 993. So far the page should look something like this:
If you'd like to you can click the "Test Settings" button to make sure that everything is set up correctly. If it is you should receive a window that looks like this:
go ahead and click "OK" button to close this window.
You are now all set!!! Now you will just need to go up to the top of the page and click the "Save" button (see image below.) You should then get a popup window that shows it was a success (almost identical to the test settings successfull window above). Finally, click on the "Mail" tab at the top of the page and the server will download all of your e-mail.
